It was the summer of 2001 in Manhattan. I was 20 and excited about my life. I went out alone four nights a week and I had finally found my tribe, the place where I was celebrated, not tolerated. My days and nights were nothing but bliss, champagne, dancing and new experiences. One night I went out dancing, and I had just laid eyes on Christopher. Christopher ended up being a very good friend, but he had no idea how I really felt about him. I assumed we would be nothing but friends forever. Christopher didn't agree, and he was about to change my life, giving me one of my firsts.
