If a person's life could be depicted in a painting, mine, as I neared the age of 40, was a picture of contentment. Content and secure with my chosen career in music and song which had filled my life with so many beautiful people and wonderful places and which was now supporting my precious young family. It was then that an illness called Spasmodic Dysphonia took away my ability to sing, ruining my musical career and shattering my life's picture of contentment into broken pieces-like a jig-saw puzzles scattered on the floor. Approaching my 60's I began gathering up those broken pieces of my life, trying to make sense of them, reconnecting them to, hopefully, put that jig-saw puzzle back together-to restore that picture of contentment. The pieces of the puzzle were the songs I'd written. The restored picture is this book.
