Excerpt from A Monograph of Levi I have been moved to put it forth because I feel that, as a general rule, in their allotment of the tribes to the two Houses of Israel they are too superficial; that, not being a vital point, they have not troubled themselves to delve below the surface and give due weight to such evidence as there is, but are content to jog along in the old wheel-ruts without reflecting whither these conduct. I venture to think they conduct - and I submit the opinion with the deference due to many who are older in this science than myself - to Scripture confusion. I have therefore endeavoured, to the best of my ability, to collate the evidence. About the Publisher Forgotten Books publishes hundreds of thousands of rare and classic books.
