I do not present the psyche in isolation, but as part of a meta-psychology which also encompasses psychology. 2. I derive a "Differentiation" of the psyche and all that is psychical relevant from analogies to basic linguistic patterns. By doing so, I am assuming that language is the most effective way to convey the psyche and everything psychically relevant, i.e., everything that concerns us as human beings. 3. Furthermore, I assume fundamental and existential "Dimensions" of human existence. The absolute dimension is of the utmost importance here. 4. Just as I consider the general psychical relevant to be the foundation of the psyche (i.e., metapsychology as the foundation of psychology), I also consider disorders of the psychical relevant to be fundamental to disorders of the psyche (i.e., metapsychiatry as the foundation of psychiatry). I postulate that psychical disorders arise from confusions ("inversions") of the existential dimensions. 5. Finally, I briefly outline the theoretical and practical (especially psychotherapeutic) consequences that arise from this concept.
