Patricia Janecek and Liliya Lifanova are located in greater Syracuse, NY area. This is their first collaboration, a book of haiku and watercolors. Inspired by local American lore, the haiku narrates a year s worth of delicate, spiritual observations on the ebb and flow of nature. The artwork brings the haiku to vivid life with beautiful, imaginative detail and succulent color.
About The Author: An avid student of nature at an early age, Patricia's interest in writing poetry began as a teenager. She worked at Syracuse University's Student Newspaper 'The Daily Orange' and wrote spots for WAER Radio. One of her poems was published in Rutgers University Literary Magazine the year she graduated. She wrote for the Princeton Packet while at Rutgers and then for SALT Magazine after returning to Syracuse, NY. This book of haiku and art is her first published book.
About The Artist: Liliya observes that memory is one of the most precious things in life. She remembers seeing landscapes and beautiful things around her, trying to memorize them and running home to capture them with pencils and paint on paper. Every painting is a promise of a memory that will not be forgotten. A self-taught artist, Lifanova collects knowledge from painting with other artists, attending art workshops, reading about art techniques, and visiting museums. Her art synthesizes her personal life, and every painting is a reminder of what is real and meaningful.
