The autobiography of a family nearly destroyed by Hitler's bombing of London during World War 2. Beginning with the 'Premonition' of their mother that 'something terrible' would happen if Kitty and Eric remain in London they are Evacuated to Folkestone then South Wales where Kitty and Eric have very different experiences. Taken back to London in 1942 they are kept there despite their mother's 'Premonition' and the onset of the 'mini-Blitz' in December 1942. Their school is bombed in daylight on 20th January 1943 when Kitty is killed and Eric is severely injured. The 'Premonition' had happened. Eric remains in hospital for 18 months then in July 1944 when the other patients are Evacuated to Durham because of the Flying Bomb attacks on London, he is Discharged home - to London. He survives not only those attacks but also a near miss by a V-2 rocket before the war's end.
