This is Book 1 of AltStrings Fiddle Method for Cello (Orchestra), Second Edition.The second edition of AltStrings' Fiddle Books 1 and 2 comes in two flavors: Original Key (for Violin only), and Orchestra! Whichever series you choose, our books offer tunes and techniques that complement and reinforce the skills students are learning in their private lessons or orchestra classes. Book 1 offers players a solid start on the instrument, and includes an introduction to the skills needed for playing chords and chopping. Book 2 continues to build on these skills, not only guiding players through progressively more difficult tunes, but also building skills in playing backup chords (applied music theory!), backup rhythms, chopping, ornamentation, and creating twin fiddle/harmony parts. Later books feature transcriptions of today's great fiddlers, and Books 1 and 2 will start you on the right track to playing like your heroes. Happy fiddling!
