Based on fictional characters, Always Worth It is based on a true story of special needs children up for adoption. Children with special needs are always looked at differently compared to the other children who get adopted. This is because some may not know how to interact or respond. Piper hopes her short story will encourage conversations of this nature with both children and adults alike. About the Author Jocelyn Piper and her husband share six children, three of which have been adopted. After her first adopted son, Nolan, passed away, she was inspired to write this story.
