America First: What my grandchildren need to know about our 45th President Donald J. Trump is designed as a teaching tool. My main purpose is to teach young children about President Trump's accomplishments. As I started to write, pretending that my three precious grandchildren-ages twelve, ten, and eight-were seated next to me, the dialogue and thoughts just kept flowing. That part was easy. Oh, my, how well I know the individual personalities and humor of my dear grandchildren. I soon discovered that writing about the president's accomplishments could lead to historical lessons that are simple yet valuable. And ones my grandchildren and others could understand in a kid, friendly way. My approach is to highlight the president's many successes through fun dialogues (which reflect my grandchildren's personalities), some teasing, and many, many questions. Questions from young listeners open the gate for adults to explain the importance of historical places and facts. This book will bring to light the importance of the XL Keystone Pipeline, the Wall, The Abraham Accords, famous statues, the US Constitution, Memorial Day. Throughout the book, my grandchildren will consistently ask questions, which led me to include personal anecdotes. These personal references brought a smile to their faces. At the end of the book, you will find questions for all twelve chapters. There are three questions for each chapter under the title "What I Learned." These questions will hopefully inspire dialogue for you, your children, and grandchildren. I feel there are other grandparents who would want their children and grandchildren to know about President Trump's accomplishments. There are words, references, and cheeky comments that I believe will bring a smile or a chuckle to grandparents everywhere: Trumpybear, flip phone," "machine" (computer or iPhone), and Nana's driving skills.
