Excerpt from American Machinist Grinding Book: Modern Machines and Appliances, Methods and Results The grinding machine in its various forms and the numerous grinding processes have assumed a place of such importance in the manufacture of machinery and the finishing of metal parts in general, that it has been considered desirable to bring together in the form of a reference book, such data on these machines, wheels, and methods as are likely to be of interest and service to grinder purchasers and operators, and to the men responsible for results in the grinding department. In gathering the material published on the following pages, we have drawn liberally upon the columns of the American Machinist, where from time to time have appeared articles by the best known authorities upon the subject of grinding. We have also received valuable assistance from various machine and wheel makers who have very courteously supplied us with data pertaining to different phases of the subject and we hereby acknowledge our indebtedness to all who have aided us in this direction. About the Publisher Forgotten Books publishes hundreds of thousands of rare and classic books. Find more at www.forgottenbooks.com This book is a reproduction of an important historical work. Forgotten Books uses state-of-the-art technology to digitally reconstruct the work, preserving the original format whilst repairing imperfections present in the aged copy.
