Each reference is separated by a semi-colon. The first reference indicates the most usual Arabic equivalent. The others refer to words of rarer occurrence. In some cases where several references are given the first two or three refer to common Arabic words. In cases where the references are not transposed the first indicates the most usual Arabic word. For the sake of saving Space a number of synonyms, which at first were intended to be given, have been left out so that the Owner of this Dictionary is requested, should he be unable to find in the Index the English word he desires, to look for a synonym or equivalent.
