Coles An Uninvited Member: A Play for Girls in Two Scenes at Bayshore Shopping Centre in Ottawa, ON
*Product information may vary - to confirm product availability, pricing, shipping and return information please contact Coles
The play takes place in a social setting, such as a gathering or party, where a group of girls are enjoying each other's company. However, the mood shifts when an uninvited guest, Lila, arrives unexpectedly. Lila is someone who was not originally included in the event, and her presence creates tension among the girls. Some of them are initially unsure how to react to her appearance, as they were not expecting her and are caught off guard by the situation. As the play unfolds, the girls grapple with how to handle the situation. Some are eager to include Lila, recognizing that she may have been excluded for reasons that aren't entirely fair. Others, however, are more reluctant, believing that the event is meant for a select few and feeling that Lila’s presence disrupts their plans. The play explores the emotional undercurrents of the situation, touching on themes of jealousy, exclusion, and the dynamics of peer groups. Ultimately, the play's resolution hinges on the girls' ability to recognize their own biases and the importance of kindness and inclusion.
