The dogs of the far north - sled dogs, Samoyeds, the Esquimaux dog - described in the age of Nansen, Scott and Shackleton. Arctic Dogs - A Complete Anthology of the Breeds gathers chapters from the rare kennel literature of the late nineteenth and early twentieth centuries, among them J. Sidney Turner's The Kennel Encyclopaedia (1908), Arthur Craven's Dogs of the World (1931) and Walter Hutchinson's Hutchinson's Dog Encyclopaedia (1935).
