Excerpt from Arnould on the Law of Marine Insurance, Vol. 1 of 2 IN the seventh edition of Arnould on Marine Insur ance the present Editors restored, as far as possible, the text and arrangement of the second edition, the last for which Sir Joseph Arnould was responsible, and they have reason to believe that this course met with general approval. In the preparation of this edition - the first which has appeared since the Marine Insurance Act, 1906, came into force - the Editors had to consider whether they should adhere to the arrangement of the seventh edition, or follow that of the Act. They came to the conclusion that it was not advisable to make any alteration in the scheme of the work, especially as it would have been impossible to reconstruct it in the shape of a commentary on the provisions of the Act, which is not an exhaustive summary of the law of marine insurance.
