In her working years, Joy Burnett was a practicing Aromatherapist, Reflexologist and Holistic Health Care Practitioner. In 1990, as a result of working with Aids patients, part of her clinical thesis on the immune system was published in Shirley Price's book Aromatherapy for Health Professionals. In 1993, Joy opened the 'Rainbow Bridge School of Aromatherapy' in North Yorkshire, which was nationally accredited with The International Society of Professional Aromatherapists (ISPA), and for over eleven years taught and practiced both there and in other schools.
