Stress is a major problem in our world today. Such stress leads many to depression, anxiety, worry, and isolation. This book addresses the overwhelming stress experienced by two women in the book of Ruth, a writing within the Old Testament of the Bible. Naomi and Ruth were two widows who had lost their husbands to death and struggled to make it on their own. Naomi was an Israelite living in the land of her enemies, the people of Moab. Upon hearing of good fortune in Bethlehem (her hometown), Naomi chose to return home in shame, facing criticism from her people for moving to Moab. Ruth, Naomi's daughter-in-law, chose to go with Naomi in an effort to care for her. Caring for each other directly contributed to minimizing stress and renewing their hope for the future. Naomi was changed from a bitter woman to an overjoyed grandmother. Ruth exchanged her potential fears and worries for the joy of remarrying and having a son. Ruth's marriage secured future care for Naomi and herself. Though Christian-based, this book offers biblical and practical solutions for anyone who is overwhelmed with stress. The practical answer. Do not handle stress on your own. Get help from a friend and / or the local church. Bob was born in Elmira, New York. He is a retired United States Marine (1980-2003). Bob and his wife of 36 years, Teresa, live in Manchester, New Hampshire. Bob currently serves as Pastor of New Hope Christian Fellowship in Bedford, New Hampshire (2009-2021). Bob enjoys bowling and fishing. Bob wrote this book, sensing the need for answers to the ongoing crisis with societal stress. For additional information: www.newhope-nh.com.
