Come and meet Binra who takes us on an adventure that she never thought was possible! Out in the deep blue sea of the Great Barrier Reef, among the swaying ferns and the lush green algae, there lived a little fish named Binra. Her home was a little cave that was carved out in the crevice of a hillock that jutted out from the reef. Many other sea creatures lived there. There were blue, red and white star fish and sea urchins. Sponges, anemones and worms crawled in and out of tiny holes. Pink and purple coral sprayed out its branches. Tiny crabs and lobsters fought for a space in the rocks. Beautiful shells like the cowrie, cone and spiral web were embedded in it. These provided a home to tiny creatures. Bigger fish like the harlequin tusk fish and the royal angel also regarded the Great Barrier Reef as their home and place of safety. Sharks, snappers, mackerels and herrings would swim in and out of the huge boulders. The giant moray eel who lived in one of the caves would slither out to get its food and then crawl back in again. The octopus with its three metre tentacle arms simply had to reach up and pick up what it wanted. All these creatures shared the plankton and other food that the Great Barrier Reef offered. They also enjoyed frolicking in the waters. It was here that little Binra lived with her family.
