Blessed is the story of Wood, a young man in his early 20's who grew up in the hood, and despite having loving and nurturing parents, found himself dealing drugs on the street corners. Wood is a well-known, and even respected member of the community. He thinks his life is just fine the way it is, despite its illegal and dangerous nature. One day, Wood finds himself fighting for his life after being gunned down in his own neighborhood over a drug related turf war. On the brink of life and death, Wood calls out to God for help and strength to make it, promising he'd change his ways in exchange for just being able to live. Wood lives and returns home, right back to the streets and dealing drugs. But he's changed, he's different and now looking at what he does in a different light. His eyes are now open to the ugly side of the business and they won't ever be closed again. Before Wood walks away from that lifestyle, he wants to have a plan and be financially set because he believes that it is necessary. Wood is torn between what God has placed in his heart and what the people who know him keep pushing and expecting him to do.
