Cathay is a collection of translations of ancient Chinese poetry by the American poet Ezra Pound, first published in 1915. The book includes translations of poems from the Tang dynasty, known for its flourishing of literature and culture, as well as earlier works from the Han and Wei dynasties. Pound's translations are notable for their spare, imagistic style and their emphasis on capturing the essence of the original Chinese texts rather than attempting to provide literal translations.
