There is an old saying, "When the student is ready, the teacher will appear." The same is true for a mentor. In 2005 I found the book, The Divine Mentor by Wayne Cordeiro. I added elements of music (central to my worship of God), scripture memorization (central to a biblical worldview and spiritual maturation), and an overview of each book of the bible (linked to the Bible Project). I encourage you to make the transition from a devotional lifestyle to a journaling lifestyle. What is the difference between the two? One is a vicarious lifestyle, the other requires digging, effort, and personal engagement with the Holy Spirit. One is a compilation of someone's thoughts about a text.
