This, the third volume of Bill MacDonald´s "best of" short stories, begins by Lake Superior with the title story
Close the Door Softly , the moving photograph of the author and Eva. As with all of Bill´s stories, humour softens
the clear light falling on his characters lives. Bill´s stories are set in places that we can visit and of course many of us have. He
provides a kind of map of the heart of the points between the physical locations and the people that visit them. Both, over time, cannot resist change.
