This book investigates the faulty product design approach that almost guarantees catastrophic blowouts, particularly in government enterprises.
In this harrowing exposé, you will learn the horrifying reality behind the political bluffing and excuses, as well as the reasons why the situation will not improve until drastic changes are made. This book puts a focus on existing processes and offers a proven strategy for change based on decades of experience with lean product development methodologies. It is filled with concrete examples from Australian defense programs.
Why the Air Warfare Destroyer will be delivered to the Australian Defence forces 3 years later and cost twice as much as planned;
How ineffective development processes benefit suppliers and are covered up by decision-makers;
What goes on behind the scenes of defense procurement meetings;
The terrifying implications of 'alternate reality' thinking in weapons acquisition;
How these outcomes could be changed (and why that is unlikely to happen).
