In a somewhat post-apocalyptic environment, Ilthanon, a young khorite monk, navigates his life and political events within the safety of the khorite monastery. Ilthanon grapples with spiritual enlightenment, forbidden desires, and the complexities of monastic life amidst political intrigue from Rhijastan. This story addresses themes of faith, love, duty, and personal growth as Ilthanon navigates his inner conflicts and relationships with fellow monks and Tsobias, a prince turned monk. The sharing of "khor," or brother-love (of a bodily kind) is integral to their religion and practices. Mature themes, but mostly a coming of age story set against an unusual background.
