This book demonstrates that the filmability of an original work is a criterion for a faithful film adaptation. The purpose of a theory or theoretical work is to demystify the illusions and misconceptions concocted by ruling-class ideologues. As part of Ryota Nakanishi’s Film Studies Trilogy (Hong Kong, China; 2021–2023), the first book, A Study of the Three-Act Structure (2021), explained the human-centric nature of the three-act structure as an organism. The second book, Marxist Film Aesthetics (in Chinese; (2022) explained the relationship of Marxist aesthetics to cinema and general artistic practice, defining it as the intrinsic nature/logic of an object and turning it into a specific, accurate methodology. This third book (2023) addresses one of the most significant aesthetic issues in media after screening: the fidelity of film adaptations to the original work. Thus, this book is intended to promote media literacy, rather than focusing solely on the methodology of film adaptation.
