In the year 2357, scientists have discovered the secret of immortality. Material needs are easily met, bodies stay eternally young and health, and war and religion are artifacts of ancient history. A special government department is created to reach back further and further into history to resurrect the billions that have already died. It is into this world that Jeffrey Winston finds himself reborn after dying in a car crash in the early twenty-first century. But he soon learns that there is trouble in this paradise: someone is assassinating high-ranking government officials-and unlike all other temporary "deaths" in this utopia, these killings are irreversible. As Jeffrey begins to navigate this strange new world, he realizes that his own newly immortal life is also in danger-unless he can uncover the truth behind the murders.
