Vampires have created a new religion. They call themselves the "Revived." Kelly Williams lives a life that has forced on her the speed and enormous strength of a vampire, but only at night. During daylight hours, her heart, transplanted from a vampire, behaves like a normal human heart. The heart connects her to undead lover Roberto, who has gone missing while they were building a life together in Dallas. Kelly suspects Roberto has been abducted by CG (Continental Grid,) a shadowy organization rumored to be ruthlessly taking control of the vampire population. Her investigation seems to prove otherwise, as she witnesses benevolent work done on CG's behalf. She decides to gain insight by entering CG's religious organization–a convent for undead women—where she learns of their new religion. Kelly must learn what it means to be one of the Revived. Will this experience lead her back Roberto?
