Schools on the Pacific Coast - Mrs. Ivy D. Ostrom, Superintendent. Organized 1897. Had I my whole time for the purpose, I could write for several days and not exhaust the subject of our mission work on this coast. I have asked the principal teacher in each school to write up her work, but I have not succeeded in getting what I want. They are such busy people, and they dislike to appear to laud themselves. We have four active mission sta tions on this coast: San Francisco, Alameda, Oakland, Los Angeles. In the three first named our work is among the Japanese entirely; the last is for Chinese.
