What comes after Enterprise Value?
Artificial intelligence is transforming the foundations of management.
As knowledge, analysis, and execution become increasingly democratized, the traditional sources of competitive advantage are rapidly changing. Efficiency alone is no longer enough. Organizations must develop a new capability: the ability to continuously create Future Value .
Future Value Theory introduces a new management framework designed for the age of AI.
The theory defines Future Value as the shared expectation of society toward the future .
Companies exist to transform those expectations into reality.
Management exists to design and realize that future.
Artificial intelligence serves as the intelligence that supports its realization.
At the center of the framework are five interconnected elements:
Purpose – Why does the organization exist?
Capability – How can it build the ability to realize its future?
Capital – How should resources be allocated toward future value creation?
Ecosystem – How is value created through collaboration among stakeholders?
Continuity – How can Future Value become sustainable Enterprise Value?
Together, these elements form the Future Value Chain , a continuous cycle through which organizations learn, redefine themselves, create new value, and sustain long-term growth.
The book also introduces the concept of Enterprise Redefinition , arguing that organizations must continuously redefine five essential dimensions:
Purpose
Business
Organization
Capital
Leadership
Rather than viewing value solely through financial performance, Future Value Theory proposes a three-layer model consisting of:
Financial Value
Social Value
Future Value
Future Value is not simply the result of business success. It is the source from which future financial and social value are created.
The theory builds upon the contributions of Peter Drucker, Michael Porter, R. Edward Freeman, Clayton M. Christensen, and other leading management thinkers. Rather than replacing existing theories, it integrates them into a unified framework designed specifically for the AI era.
As AI democratizes knowledge, analysis, and execution, competitive advantage shifts from operational efficiency toward the ability to define, design, and create desirable futures.
The book further introduces Human-on-the-Loop Management , proposing that the role of leadership is evolving from making individual decisions to designing entire value creation systems that integrate people, AI, organizations, capital, and ecosystems.
AI optimizes. Humans define.
AI predicts. Humans choose.
AI executes. Humans remain responsible for the future.
Future Value Theory is presented as Version 1.0 , representing the beginning of an evolving body of knowledge rather than a finished doctrine. The framework is intended to develop through continuous dialogue with business leaders, investors, researchers, universities, policymakers, and AI communities around the world.
This publication is the first volume of the Future Value Library , a long-term intellectual project dedicated to advancing management thinking for the AI era.
The future is not something to predict.
It is something to create.
Future Value Theory provides the framework for creating it.
