The dark history of USA is most disturbing in the way white immigrants from England in the 17th centurey took the land from the native Americans, expelled them en masse, and decimated all the tribes.
Even to this day, there has been no proper recognition from USA of the terrible injustice done to the native Americans in this process of new nation building.
Can this wrong ever be righted?
Of course not.
It is simply impossible to undo genocides and atrocities. But things can be done to alleviate the pain and the injustice if there is a will.
But, have American fully understood their history and their obligation to this land and to other peoples and nations of the world?
The history of the many war fought by USA are strewn with hypocracy and arrogance.
There is much to be learned to avoid more wars.
There is also much to do to deal with the social inequality, racism, toxic politics, and gun violence within USA.
USA has to come out of its shell, and to relearn how to get along with other superpowers and other nations on a collaborative basis that can lead to win-win outcome for all.
