Hunter Lynn, a delightful ten-year-old, is having some difficulty growing up. He's tired of being told he's too little or too young to do the things he wants to do. He wants to be the biggest and the best, but in his efforts to surpass all those around him he sometimes makes what his family calls "Hunter Mistakes". These mistakes all too frequently end with disastrous results. Hunter wants to grow-up and he wants to grow-up now. His life takes a drastic turn when he discovers an injured Sky-top, a featherless bird the size of a small elephant, at the base of a cliff near his home. Will he follow his father's wise counsel and think before he acts? Will his brother be able to save him from his frequent mistakes? Will his enemy really poke his eyes out? So many important choices to be made and each one a stepping stone toward becoming the man he wants so terribly to be?
