I Came In Here For A Reason is a compilation of 26 short stories written to evoke resonance for all kinds of readers. For those of us facing the realities of aging, some of these stories will hit home. Maybe a little too close to home, i.e. hearing aids, bifocals, and medical tests out the ying yang. There are stories about family, childhood memories, keeping busy in retirement, and the gift of our favorite pets, like dogs and cats and what they bring to our lives.
Many of the stories are a self-deprecating and humorous look at everyday life from cleaning the garage to trying to decide if you have a problem with your memory, and why it feels like you always learn everything the hard way. There is insightful commentary on everything from earthworms to mosquitos, a happier way to mow the lawn, making meaningful but weird new year resolutions, and even an up-close look at golf and its relationship to four letter words.
This is the perfect book for your bathroom. It will give you something to look forward to in there. Or your guest bedroom. But don't blame the book if your guests don't want to leave until they've finished it.
