Ray Johnson, a member of the hugely successful musical comedy trio  Buddy Wasisname and the Other Fellers, is now a first time author. Ray says his just released debut book  . ..and I Owe It All to Bridget and John is intended to give readers an in-depth look into the private life of his beloved foster parents, and also to show how he was influenced by the stories, characters, music and songs that were passed on to him so many years ago.  The book begins with a song Ray wrote back in the summer of 1988, a song that has the same title as his book and was written as a final tribute in memory of his foster parents. "In keeping with that," he says, "I have decided to open my work in a manner similar to that of an old fashioned concert: The curtain opens and there, in its simplest form are my parents, images of my past in history, story, picture, and song." "A one of a kind book in which Ray has intertwined the threads of love, family, music and culture to weave a beautfiul tapestry."Diane Molloy, Executive Director, NL Foster Families Association. "In this book, Ray has collected and recorded history, stories, pictures and songs far and wide from the hamlets, coves, and towns of the province he cherishes so well. He has done this so that those now living and generations yet unborn will appreciate the words and music of a culture which is distinctly Newfoundland." Gordon Stewart
