All mental powers are thus, in short, nothing more than names determined by various orders of mental phaeno mena. But as these phaenomena differ from, and re semble, each other in various respects, various modes of classification may, therefore, be adopted, and, conse quently, various faculties and capacities, in different views, may be the result.
