He was the original Dr. Feelgood — the man who injected JFK, Elvis Presley, Marilyn Monroe, Truman Capote, and the biggest names of the 20th century with his legendary “miracle shots.”
To the world, Dr. Max Jacobson was a genius who fueled presidents and superstars. To his daughter Jill Jacobson, he was simply Papa.
Born into a complex family still haunted by the shadows of Nazi Germany, Jill grew up inside one of the most extraordinary households in America. She witnessed her father’s meteoric rise as the most sought-after doctor on the planet, and his devastating fall when the amphetamines that made him famous destroyed everything.
This is not another outsider biography.
This is the untold, intimate story only his daughter could tell — raw, personal, and unflinching. Through her eyes, we see the private man behind the myth: the brilliance, the secrets, the charisma, the darkness, and the heartbreaking cost to their family. After decades of silence, Jill finally shares the full truth — supported by never-before-revealed details, interviews with patients and friends, and her own deeply personal reckoning. The final chapter of the Dr. Feelgood saga — told by the person who knew him best.
