The days were filled with turmoil on every front. Yet in the midst of it was a virtuous man whose life and character was undaunted by the times. And then there was the young widowed woman who had just returned to town with her mother-in-law. She was different for sure, but there was something intangible and much more distinct about her. Maybe it was because she was new in her faith. Maybe it was her hard working habits, or her submissive spirit, or the major impact she had made upon the residents of the community, or maybe it was the way she went quietly about her business. Whatever it was, she was being prepared for a divine intersection with the man who had also been prepared. Little did either one of them know what God had prepared them to receive, and to do for His glory. He really does have prepared places for prepared people. Is this about Ruth and Boaz? Or, is it about someone you know. After all, the way God works in the lives of His people is eternal. Look inside and see how He did it for them, and how He will do it for you. Mike McCutcheon, ThD, DMin, has been a student of the Word for over 40 years; the first 28 years as a pastor and church planter and the latter years as an adjunct teacher at the Maharashtra Bible College in Bodwad, Maharashtra (India) and the Grace Bible College in Amravati, Maharashtra (India). Being partially retired, today Mike supervises a woodworking shop for men who have intellectual disabilities and operates a teaching ministry to pastors, evangelists, church planters, etc. throughout South Asia via a website designed for equipping and encouraging church leaders.
