Excerpt from Mechanical Drawing Working Drawings This book is designed to cover two different fields. As an elementary text-book it is complete in itself and should enable the student to make or read any simple mechanical drawing. As an introductory work, in schools that offer a three or four years' course in Mechanical Drawing, it should lay a good foundation for the subject of Projection. The drawing instruments are explained as they are introduced in the course, instead of in a chapter by themselves. Each problem is fully discussed before the student is expected to attack it. It is suggested that the student be required to work out his problem for each plate, free-hand, outside of the class-room. This will give him valuable practice in free-hand sketching, and it will save time in the class-room for needed attention to technique. About the Publisher Forgotten Books publishes hundreds of thousands of rare and classic books. Find more at www.forgottenbooks.com This book is a reproduction of an important historical work. Forgotten Books uses state-of-the-art technology to digitally reconstruct the work, preserving the original format whilst repairing imperfections present in the aged copy. In rare cases, an imperfection in the original, such as a blemish or missing page, may be replicated in our edition. We do, however, repair the vast majority of imperfections successfully; any imperfections that remain are intentionally left to preserve the state of such historical works.
