Take a road trip through parts of Louisiana's Florida Parishes as we journey along the Louisiana Northshore Quilt Trail, one of the newest and one of the most unique quilt trails in the country. Learn the history of the Quilt Trail and the regions that inspired it, as well as the masterminds behind this beautiful attraction. A must-see adventure for artists and historians alike! About the Author A native of South America, Susan Nichols moved to Covington, Louisiana, when she was 13 and attended St. Scholastica Academy. Before that time, she had neither seen nor heard of Louisiana and cried when her first meal at school was red beans and rice. Nichols returned to Venezuela every summer until her senior year, when her parents moved to Covington and stayed. A graduate of Southeastern Louisiana University, Nichols taught a variety of subjects and grade levels before returning to SLU to get a masters in both History and English. There, she met her husband Howard, and together, they have two daughters, Lizzie and Frannie. After 25 years of teaching English at SLU, Nichols retired in 2007 to pursue art, writing, and travel.
