Eigentlich planten mein Freund und ich eine Reise auf einem ruhigen Fluss im Norden Finnlands. Da ich bereits den Ivalojoki in Finnisch-Lappland zweimal befahren hatte, schlug ich vor, unsere Tour erneut auf diesem Fluss durchzuführen. Aber es kam alles anders als gedacht. Durch den sehr niedrigen Wasserstand waren eine Vielzahl riesiger Steine im Fluss, an denen wir bei etwa 50 Stromstellen vorbeisteuern mussten. Das war mit einem festen Kanu, das etwa 350 kg Zuladung hatte, eine echte Herausforderung.
