Close to our own world is another. Sandsmid is a place unlike any other, made of separate realms of terrible beauty and danger, and ruled by a sinister group called the Bridge, and their dark leader, Salvos. Once a peaceful land, Sandsmid has been overtaken by a religion of human sacrifice and oppression, wreathed in a darkness without dawn. Stolen away from Sandsmid, Trinity was hidden in Toronto on earth for her own safety. But when she is taken back to the land of her birth, she will find that she lays claim to a mystical and portentous birthright. But Trinity never signed up to be the saviour of a land and people she'd never even heard of - all she wants is to free herself and her friend of the danger and go home. But fate has a funny way of getting in the way of plans. Meeting a colourful cast of characters, both friends and foes, Trinity's journey is one that will test her to her very limits.
