This is the third of the Pamela Prendergast Mysteries. Following an unsettling encounter with a stranger while walking her dogs, Pamela finds herself and her stepson Andy involved in another police investigation. She gets to know some of Andy's friends at closer quarters than she expected, as well as meeting some of their parents. As she struggles to find time to complete a commission because of all the interruptions, the case becomes more complicated for her neighbour, Mal Mitchell, and Pamela herself walks into danger before the end of the story.
