Abandoned by her relatives on the brink of the summer holidays, orphan Brenda Jacobs finds herself travelling to a strange town to stay with strangers. The thought that it might prove to be a more enjoyable time than she expected, is confused by finding the last person she wanted to see, travelling on the same train.
