Reference has been made frequently to the bankrupt act of 1867, and the decisions thereunder when the provisions of the present act are illustrated thereby. The effect of the bankrupt act upon state insolvent laws, and proceedings based thereon, the distinctions between insolvent and assign ment laws, the exclusive jurisdiction of federal courts, the concurrent jurisdiction of federal and state courts, the equitable remedies of creditors in state courts unaf fected by the bankrupt act, the rights and remedies of creditors in the bankrupt court, the scope and powers of the trustee as the representative of creditors, are as fully treated as the adjudicated cases thus far reported Will permit.
