There is no question that the European Union, EU, is at a critical junction of its development. It is facing the dilemma of how to deal with four important issues related to Ukraine, Russia, China and USA. This is proving to be exceedingly difficult in the midst of major power shifts within itself among its many member states, and between the superpowers in the world at large. How EU develops its policies towards these four important issues is critical to its existence and its future development. And unless these policies are rational and effective, there will be terrible repercussions for Europe and the rest of the world. EU's future is in its own hands. EU needs to make a wise decision amid all the daunting challenges that it now faces.
