Humanity's innate desire for self-rule is nearly as deep and as strong as our instinct for survival. It normally runs beneath the conscious mind as a deep undercurrent. This desire to rule, to have things our way, has resulted in a deeply ingrained pattern of thought. I refer to this particular pattern of thought, or paradigm, as The God Complex. The God Complex runs through all of human culture everywhere keeping many from coming into the fullness of God's glorious and eternal purpose for their lives.
God desires a deeply intimate relationship with us that we might experience the fullness of His love. Many of us hunger for more of God. We long for something beyond what we've experienced in our daily lives and weekly church attendance. The Bible outlines where humanity went wrong and what is necessary to find true fellowship with our Heavenly Father. All we have to do is give up what was never ours to begin with--the right to rule ourselves independently of God.
