North Korea, April 2017 With international tensions rising to unprecedented levels, North Korea is an inhospitable place to any foreigner. But it's even more dangerous to a vampire - especially a Fixer named Lawson who just so happens to be sneaking into the country to help Talya bring across a defector in possession of the most-detailed intelligence on North Korea's nuclear capabilities. But even as Lawson sneaks inside a world seldom seen by outsiders, the Council wants him to bring back information about vampires living under the totalitarian regime. And before he knows it, a simple escort becomes a much more complex assignment.
