The first edition of The Life and Times of the Comox Valley book covered the valley’s prehistory and history to 1997. The second volume continues to the present. In chronological order, the history is captured generally in 240 pages of well-researched material. The stories selected focus on topic matter described as natural; social; historical; recreational and shopping; infrastructure, food and shelter; and financial attributes. Each have been shown to influence the valley’s quality of life and appeal. It is designed to be informative and appealing. An extensive Index and bibliography include references to events and people making a difference. The book also contains a 12-page colour insert filled with quality images from Gerry Fairbrother, former photographer for the Comox Valley Record.
