Eddie has always lived with Nana and Papa in the great Sheltering Tree. But when he notices other young animals with their parents, questions begin to flutter in his heart. Why does he live with Nana and Papa? Where does he belong? With the help of the wise Guardian of Floofendoofle Forest, Eddie discovers that some families are formed by birth, others by circumstance, and all are held together by love. A tender and wonder-filled picture book honoring the caregivers who step in when children need them most, this story celebrates kinship caregivers, the strength of community, and the quiet ways love shelters us through every season. With gentle spirituality and a reassuring message, this book is suitable for children in all kinship settings and reminds them: You are wanted. You are safe. You are loved.
