As the religious right in America is taking away women's rights at an alarming rate, many women feel a pull to choose between their faith and themselves. Using religion as a justification for men to sell their daughters into the slavery of marriage isn't new. Throughout the course of history, women have often been treated as second-class citizens within the church, society and even their own homes. While those in charge of the patriarchal power structure use the Bible as a justification for violence against women, they are leaving out important pieces of Biblical history. By learning the lost stories of women of faith throughout the ages, reexamining the Biblical texts and returning to the words of Christ, women can reclaim their personal power while retaining their faith. This book provides a detailed look at the lost stories of the Bible, in attempt to help today's women find freedom and sisterhood by reclaiming a spirituality all their own.
