The angel Elysia's world is shattered when her closest friend Mirelle vanishes, undoubtedly Chosen to rejoin the essence of the long-absent Creator. But soon after a chance encounter with the kind and enigmatic Alirion, she learns Mirelle was actually sent in haste to the distant city of Vigilis to battle a terrifying plague, once known as The Withering, that threatens to destroy Heaven.
