You've heard of Christmas in July--well, this is the real deal. Four kids in a family that has knocked around quite a bit long for a little stability. Instead, one summer they get a visit from an old man in a beat-up pickup truck who shakes things up. This new neighbor has moved in two doors down the street, and mysterious occurrences accompany him. But it turns out that his great gift is the capacity to help them find the continuity in life that they've been seeking. This special story was written by a father for his children, all of whom were born in different states because of his nomadic career. And even as they have grown much older, it has become a tradition for him to read this magical story aloud to his family every year on Christmas Eve.
